Fall/Winter 2008 Campaign
“I chose these five women who represent elegance, femininity, and masculinity with character. I chose Natasha, Lara, Mariacarla, Kristen and Lakshmi. All these girls started their career with me. Basically, this is a family portrait. The ad campaign is in black and white to represent Givenchy Colours: no special effects, since it is about the personality of the girls. I wanted them to be natural, the way they would dress and do their hair and make-up every day. This best reflects their surpassing sensuality, femininity and strong masculinity. The idea was to use girls from different nationalities, and after Lyia Kebe from Ethiopia, the new Givenchy star for the Fall/Winter 2008 season is Indian model Lakshmi Menon. In its 7th season, Givenchy worked with Inez and Winoodh; together we found the language and attitude of the Givenchy world.” – Ricardo Tisci
